Autumn Splendor

I am enjoying the beautiful fall weather and the change of seasons. After 12 years away from this season it is starting to grow on me again. (Florida and California got me a bit spoiled...) I was having a great time this month making creations with the Autumn Splendor stamp set. My theme this month in the stamp room was "Fancy Folds". Here is one of the cards I came up with using the "Tri-Fold Shutter Card". This is originally inspired from Splitcoast Stampers. I have made several of these this month and thought I should share my "Autumn Splendor". Click on the photo to get a closer view!

The Red Hat Ladies Drop in for a Class

Last week I had so much fun as I welcomed some beautiful women aka "Red Hat Ladies" into my stamp studio. We laughed, snacked and crafted together for what was a SUPER FUN time!! I can't wait to see them again. Here they are in their beautiful hats! We made several projects but the just one project is featured here. We learned how to use the brayer, masking and embossing and blender pens techniques! Did you miss out on the fun? Join me this month in my stamp room to make your own projects!

My two winners this month are Bridget and Linda. I hope you enjoy their creations as much as I do!

A Quick Trip to Yellowstone National Park

My husband surprised me with a trip to Yellowstone National Park. We had just 3 days to explore the park. We had the most amazing time adventuring and hiking together. It was so much fun to take a complete break from cell phones, e-mail and daily routines to just get away!! I enjoyed seeing all the wildlife. I really did not know what I would see there. Each adventure was a beautiful window into God's creations! I found joy in the simplest of things. Flowers, animals, birds, trees. My favorite is always the waterfalls. I am drawn to them whenever I travel. Now I am back--school has started and it's time to get down to stampin'!!

Razzle Dazzle with Poppin' Pastels

Here is a little card we made recently in my Stamp Club. It is made using a simple technique called poppin pastels. It is so fun to use the pastels and then layer the look with the spritzer tool and additional chalk around the edges. Makes me feel a little bit like an artist! I used sponge daubers to apply the pastels. I have tried every tool on earth and have decided that the daubers provide the best control for me. I am having a lot of fun with these new In Colors. Here I have Melon Mambo. The stamp sets used are Oval All and Razzle Dazzle.

Did you miss the Home Decor at Convention

If you missed Convention 2009 then you missed some fabulous Home Decor Ideas. Here is just one of the beautiful things that you can make using our Stampin' Up! Exclusive Tulipe Die Cut for the Big Shot. If you want to make a one of a kind handmade gift for the holidays here is a fantastic idea for you!

Lovin' Every Minute of it!

Here we were last week at Convention. We had a great time and learned so much. These are some of the most incredible friends in the world!

Back From Convention

I am back from Convention and ready to stamp! We took SLC by storm once again! What a fantastic time I had with my fellow demonstrators and team members. I saw so many fantastic ideas and creative projects that I can't wait to get busy making them! We got up early stamped all day and stayed up late! It was a fantastic time. This was my third convention and I wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Here is a card I created to swap with my fellow 2008 Rising Stars. These ladies always inspire me with their creativity. I will be sharing some of their cards over the next few days. This card uses all black embellishments. The bling is so much fun--the glitter comes from the Fine Cosmo collection. I love the way the brads and glitter work with the New In Colors and the bold brights on this card. The bottom layer is made using the Texturz plates. I learned a new technique at Convention that you will want to try. Spritz the paper with water before running through the Big Shot. This gives the paper even more detail when using the Texturz Plates!!.
Here are the Stampin' Supplies I used:

For All You Do Stamp Set (115360)
Bermuda Bay Cardstock (115317)
Tempting Turquoise Cardstock (102067)
Whisper White Cardstock (100730)
Green Galore Cardstock (101768)

Asian Artistry Hostess Stamp Set

I have had some fun with my new goodies! Here is a card I made for a swap with my fellow rising stars! It sure was fun swapping with them. I used the marker technique for the panel pieces. Our new In Colors have MARKERS!! This is our first year with the markers and I for one am over the moon. I love to journal with my markers and if you know me at all you know I am what Oprah calls "matchy matchy pooh pooh". So being able to match my journal writing to my paper means I can't wait to get scrapbooking and Journal writing!

Last Day Of School-Woo Hoo!

Woo Hoo!! It's owlmost over... tomorrow is the last day of school for my kids. WOW I just can not believe this school year is ending. I am looking forward to spending time with my kids (and a little nervous about all those hours of entertaining...) We have some fun trips and activities planned. I hope we can squeeze them all in! Here are a few gifts I will be giving to some fabulous teachers tomorrow. Our school mascot is an OWL and our school colors are Pacific Point Blue and Pumpkin Pie!! (I would probably not put these colors together otherwise--but I had a good time with it.) I made a matching pen to go with the notebook. I used Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper (on the LAST CHANCE accessories list AND is still available) I also used a chipboard set for our OWL mascot at our Elementary School. I used Chocolate Chip classic ink to dye the chipboard. Then I used Chococlate Chip Craft Ink and Clear Embossing Powder with the background stamp Sanded to make the owl stand out a bit. I am going to miss the Striped 5/8 Grosgrain Pacific Point Blue ribbon. It is so pretty. It is also STILL available on the Last Chance Acessories List. I know my daughter is looking forward to delivering these goodies to her teacher. She has insisted that tomorrow I make one for her too! Good thing I have a few supplies left to make a special one just for her!!

Sneak Peek: Asian Artistry

Here is a sneak peek at one of the NEW in Colors! and a Hostess set from the NEW catalog. Shhh!!! I wanted to use my new things and I just couldn't wait to share. They are like money in my pocket burning a huge hole! It is so exciting to have new colors and new stamps. I am cooking up some fun projects for this month and here is a sneak peek of just some of my new goodies. Did you get a load of the polka dotted ribbon?? Oooh la la!! It comes in every In Color this year.

The stamp set is Asian Atristry and I am using a fantastic sketch from Sweet Sunday . I used the colors Ruby Red, Soft Suede (NEW IN COLOR), Blush Blossom and Very Vanilla. I wondered what I would do with another brown. After using it I see that I am not going to be able to live without it! It is completely different from chocolate chip and close to cocoa. It seems like it has a green undertone. Reminds me of my Umber Crayola crayon I had as as a kid!

Can you feel the Baja Breeze?

Here are some fun projects with a Last Chance color (BAJA BREEZE) that I am truly going to miss! The Specialty paper makes such fantastic 3-D boxes and projects that are very sturdy!

I used the Parisian Breeze Specialty paper to make this little box. I also used Kraft taffeta ribbon and Matchbox Message for the tag.

A catalog case.... with a few Denise style modifications :) I used the Matchbox Messages stamp set and punched it out with a 1 1/4 inch punch.

I used my Big Shot and the Top Note die cut to make the outside of the box. The top note box is made with cardboard and confetti white cardstock. Confetti is fun because it has all those speckles in the paper and really matches the mood and colors here. I inked up my Thoughts and Prayers stamp set for the sentiment and main image. First I inked the entire image with the Baja Breeze classic ink, then gently wiped off all the leaves and stems. I used an Always Artichoke marker and inked the greenery. I dotted the centers of the flowers with a Creamy Caramel Stampin' Write marker. Then for a little bling I added Flower Fusion and silver brads. Now I have to decide what to put in the box! Some tea bags and comfort items for sure.

Simple Friendship

I have loved this set since the day I got it! Stamping this butterfly just makes me feel happy! I wanted to take advantage of the Walk In The Park Designer paper I have before it's gone! It's on the Last Chance List! I used my Texture Plates to make the bottom pattern on a piece of Kiwi Kiss cardstock. The chipboard is from On Board so tweet. I just used a sponge dauber to color the chipboard with Kiwi Kiss classic ink! It is so easy to die the chipboard that way.

:)Happy Stampin! Denise

A Card for the Troops

Sometimes our children inspire us. One of my kids gives the most amazing prayers. Every night he prays these detailed well thought out prayers for the troops fighting for our freedom in Iraq. It's amazing how your children can affect your thoughts and prayers! So after last nights very moving prayer by my 9 year old I felt inspired and almost obsessed to create this card. It is made for a friend who has faithfully served our country in Iraq twice in the last four years. He just came home a week ago and I wanted to let him know how much we appreciate him and the sacrifices he and his family have made. He has left his wife and children for 2 of the last 4 years to protect our liberty. For that I salute him! This stamp set is appropriately named "The Free & The Brave". I used Pacific Point blue, Basic Black, Summer Sun, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White Cardstock. I also stamped the Sanded background onto the Pacific Point Blue card base. Don't you LOVE the star brads? They are in our Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware. The colors were inspired by Kristina Werner and her color challenge shown below:

Close up Tea Party Frame

Is it possible to have a favorite, favorite color? I think mine might be Almost Amethyst. Here is a close up of the picture frame I showed yesterday that was tucked in a care package. The frame has a "faux emboss technique". I used the heart to heart punch and popped the hearts up on dimensionals. The trick is to use the same paper for the background and the pop ups! Easy and fun. I sure hope we get some sunny days soon so that my photos have better lighting... Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Something for Someone

Here is a little basket full of goodies I made for a little someone! It was fun to put these all together. The milk carton is from a template that I print right onto the cardstock! I wrapped several handmade soaps with paper and added Regal Rose 5/8 grosgrain ribbon. I had such fun making the picture frame. I used the Heart to Heart punch to create a faux embossing technique with the hearts and then finished it off with a Die cut Bigz Butterfly which is embossed with Irridescent Ice. All of these goodies are made with the Designer Series Paper "Tea Party". The colors are some of my favorites. I love when Springtime comes around and we can really focus on Soft Subtles. I also used the stamp set "Oval All" from the Occasions Mini Catalog to create the tag for the candle.

A CD Mini Album

I have been waiting for a nice sunny day to photograph my projects. Evidently one is NOT EVER going to happen. I have been waiting since Saturday. Today is Wednesday and my weatherman assures me I won't see the sun before next MONDAY. So... I am posting my project with overcast lighting. Ironically the products are from the GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE Designer Series. I guess it was all wishful thinking on my part. This is National Scrapbooking month and I wanted to kick the month off with a scrapbooking project. I plan to post some other fun scrapbooking projects over the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy. This idea for the CD mini album came from Jan Tinkleburg over at Splitcoast. I loved her ideas and thought I would put them to work!

Friends 24/7

Here is a quick and easy little card that you might like! I used some of my favorite colors, Black, White and Silver!! With a few punches this card is elegant but simple! I used the stamp set Friends 24/7 -- this flourish is elegant and looks good stamped in just about every color I have seen so far! The Thank you sentiment is one of our stamps that is under $5.00!! It is the elegant thanks stamp. I finished off the bottom edge with the scallop punch. I used Black Staz-on ink. The paper is basick black, whisper white and Brushed Silver. It sure was fun making that matching envelope! I designed this card for a friend who has a jewelry business. We wanted to have a little bit of silver to tie in with her silver jewelry theme!

New stamps new punches LOVE IT

I am so excited to share a little card I made this week. It is using my new products from the Occasions Mini catalog. The paper is called Walk in the Park and the stamp is Oval All. I love it when a stamp set has a matching punch! The punch is our new scallop oval Punch. Both the punch and the stamp set are part of Shelli's signature collection. I love her taste! I always forget how much I love basic Gray until I put it with pinks and blues. WOW it really comes alive. I made the flower with my new Big Shot Flower, Daisies#2. I really love an all white flower. So simple and elegant.
I used jumbo brads to hold together the daisy. I also used the Friends wheel with basic gray ink on whisper white paper. That wheel is so much fun. I have a special right now --if you order $40 in products from the Mini catalog you get a FREE STAMP under $10. Now that is a great bargain.

A Decorative Tiles Workshop

I had some fun ladies (and young women) here in the studio this week to make TILES!! We had a great time and I thought I would share their creations with you. If you have not tried making these tiles yet--you have to do it! They are beautiful gifts and easy to make! There is nothing I love more than girls stampin' with their MOMS!! To make the tiles stamp using Craft Ink. We inked up the stamps using sponge daubers. It is a lot easier this way to get several colors on the stamp. Then we covered the tiles with glassy glaze, tapped off the excess and popped them into the oven. A few minutes later wow-- beautiful tiles.
